How Much Will It Cost Me to Hire a Lawyer?

For some people, the thought of hiring an attorney can be extremely intimidating. They may assume having a lawyer will cost them thousands of dollars, creating more trouble than it’s worth. When you come to Injury Law Center® that is not the case. We work on a contingency fee basis, which means we only get paid if and when we are able to recover compensation on your behalf—and this comes out of the settlement or verdict, not your own pockets. We typically take a third of the recovery to cover our fees, depending on the specific details of the case. This allows you to hire a qualified, seasoned personal injury lawyer in New Hampshire that can stand up for you in the face of insurance companies and employers.

Will My Case go to Trial or Should I try to get a Settlement?

This will rely heavily on the evidence involved in your case and the willingness of the defendant / insurance company to offer a fair settlement. If you are able to negotiate a favorable settlement with the at-fault party, it may be in your best interests to avoid trial. On the other hand, if they try to low-ball you with a poor offer, you may need to stand up for your right to fair compensation by pursuing a trial. Our team has a pretty impressive track record when it comes to trials, winning about 93% of these cases. We also settle many cases and have recovered numerous million-dollar results over the years.

I Already Hired an Attorney but I’m not Happy With Them. Can I Hire You?

If you are not happy with the work your lawyer has done for you so far, you 100% have the right to discharge them and retain another advocate. While we encourage you to sit down with your attorney and try to resolve any issues prior to seeking alternative counsel, we understand that some things simply aren’t the right fit. You can take the first step by sitting down with our team here at the Injury Law Center®. If we are the right fit for your case, we can send a letter on your behalf to your current attorney, requesting that they forward their files to us. Once this is done, we can notify the insurance companies / defendants that we are currently representing you.

Will I Still Have to pay My Other Attorney?

If your attorney had already begun working on your case, they likely are owed fair value for their services up to that point. Most likely, this attorney accepted your case on a contingency fee arrangement, which means they will be paid the fair amount for their services only if we are able to obtain compensation on your behalf. They will be getting a portion of our contingency fee. That means you only pay one fee—not two.

What Should I Expect During an Initial Consultation?

Finding the right attorney can be challenging. Thankfully, most firms—like the Injury Law Center®—offer free initial consultations. When you speak with the firm’s attorney initially, they should ask you about your case, your injuries, how it happened, and other important details. The attorney will likely spend half an hour to an hour discussing your case with you over the phone or in person during this initial consultation. At that point, they may want to set up an appointment to further discuss your case if they believe you may have a valid claim. They will need much more detail to determine how to pursue your case and craft and effective strategy. If you feel like a lawyer is uncertain about your case, makes false promises, or isn’t answering your questions honestly, it should be a red flag. When you come to our firm, you don’t get strung along or have to wait a few weeks for us to begin—we start right away when we think you have a case.

I Don’t Have Health Insurance so I Can’t see a Doctor. Now What?

After an accident, some injury victims are left at a crossroads without any health insurance. Do they get medical care and treatment and incur all the costs themselves hoping they get compensated? Or do they avoid going to the doctor and just hope they get some money down the road to seek medical care? No matter your situation, if you have been hurt in an accident, you need to seek medical attention right away. Even if you are planning to just wait until you get compensated, if you don’t have your injuries documented and show signs that you’ve sought treatment, you could be denied compensation. Demonstrating that you absolutely needed medical care is essential to your case—if you can wait, the other side would likely argue it wasn’t necessary or your injuries occurred after the initial accident. More than that, if you let your injuries go untreated, they could result in lifelong injuries, causing you more damage in the long run. When you work with our firm, we can help you determine if there is Medical Payments Coverage or Personal Injury Protection Coverage available. If not, our team can work with medical providers to arrange a later date of payment, such as after the case is settled. In such cases, many providers are willing to accept payment at a later date. Simply put, don’t deny yourself the medical treatment you need due to lack of coverage. Our firm is here to help you recover financially, emotionally, and physically.

How Much is My Case Worth?

The value of your case depends on numerous factors, from liability to injuries to your earning capacity (if you are unable to work). While these details allow us to estimate the worth of your case, it doesn’t mean this is accurate to what you will receive or be awarded in a trial. If any attorney claims to know how much money you will get, that should be a red flag. We make sure we pursue a settlement or verdict that is reflective of your needs and covers your damages. Once you come in and sit down with our team, we can provide a clearer picture of these estimated damages and expenses. If you would like an assessment as to whether or not you have a strong, weak, or solid case, we are here to talk.

Client Reviews
After my accident I was in so much pain and so confused that I didn't know where to go, so I contacted the Injury Law Center. Joe would sit and he would listen and talk to me and hear what I was saying and what was really going on with me. He explained everything. It really made a difference and gave me a peace of mind. I knew that he knew me well enough to take care of my best interests. He heard the story behind everything and made sure that the insurance company had to take action. Deb Brosnan
If someone I cared for was going to be going through something like this I would definitely recommend Injury Law Center as your first point of reference. My case went on for a very long time, over a year, and we were on very good terms the entire time. Attorney Russo came to visit me several times in the hospital and brought me things to do in rehab. They were very supportive the entire time. Injury Law Center was able to exceed my expectations and I am able to live comfortably without having to work. Valerie
I had a car accident that affected my business and my ability to deal with insurance companies was very difficult. Joe stayed the course and we were offered very fair compensation.I think it was because of Joe and the hard work of the team. It was a very long trial but it turned out to be in our favor which we were very happy about. Mat Morello
